As a church body, we have thoughtfully crafted our Mission Statement to guide our path on our journey of faith. Our Mission Statement reads:
Enriching lives by being an authentic Kingdom presence in the community.
As a pastor, please allow me to explain how we choose to make these words relevant.
- Enriching lives–meeting individuals where they are and helping them move to the next step, whatever that step may be.
- Being authentic-our words and actions are meaningless if we do not do them with the love of Christ guiding us in ways that are true, not faked. We all struggle together to help each other grow. We do not expect everyone to act and look perfect; we expect everyone to be who we truly are and feel comfortable being that person with us and with God.
- Kingdom Presence-presence-god’s Kingdom is an old term from the days of Kings, Queens, Lords and Ladies, but it has meaning for us today in understanding that God’s presence and full intentions
are lived out here and now AND in eternity. We are not just trying to get folks saved so they can wait for heaven. The Kingdom calls us to actions of love, peace, justice and mercy everyday.
- Community-community-our church is useless as a country club. It must be a vital, active part of the community or there is no use to exist. Our goal is not to build a bigger and better institution; it is to do all of this to build up the community in which God has planted us.
We live out this calling through our worship times together our learning opportunities, our ministry to those in need, our love for one another, by meeting new people, and working to keep our building and property alive and vibrant.
